Welcome to another MJL Warm Ups- today I am sharing a fun SOVTE warm up using the "ng" sound released into an "ah."
A semi-occluded vocal tract exercise is one in which the vocal tract is slightly closed down- think lip trill, hum, straw, tongue flub and, in this case, "ng." As a result, the differential between the sub glottal and supra glottal pressure is more equalized, which allows more access to crico-thryroid dominance. In other words, easier singing with light edge.
I hope you try out this simple exercise today- enjoy!
