MJL Voice Studio Student Spotlight

Welcome to the inaugural MJL Voice Studio Student Spotlight!

Our first student to highlight is the wonderfully talented Amelia.

Amelia Connor-McCoy, a senior at Portland High School, has been singing for eight years. She joined the Southern Maine Children’s choir in fifth grade, and then sang briefly with the Southern Maine Youth Chorale. In eighth grade she joined the Iris Ensemble, a high school choir for girls directed by Maria Belva. Now she is a member of the Young Artist Program and sings with Oratorio Chorale, an adult choir directed by Emily Isaacson, founder of the non-profit music organization Classical Uprising. Amelia's passion for acting has led her to do numerous musicals over the years, her first being The Wizard of Oz in second grade. She sings because it makes her happy and it feels like something she was always meant to do.
