Huge congratulations to my students Emily Greene, Miranda Cohen, Maddie Darigan and Molly Scott for their accomplishments in the Maine Classical NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) Festival.

Miranda Cohen placed First in her Division: Lower High School. Please check out her wonderful rendition of "Das Vielchen" below, one of the three songs she recorded and submitted for the competition. I am so incredibly proud of the work Miranda has done this year, including really focusing on superb German diction!

Emily Greene placed Third in her Division: Lower High School. Please check out her charming interpretation of "The Monk and his Cat", one of three songs she submitted for judging. This song is a personal favorite of mine and I am so impressed by Emily's grasp on atypical meter. Brava!

Maddie Darigan placed Third in her Division: Upper High School. Please check out her stunning version of "Les Roses D'Ispahan." I am so impressed with the lovely warm color of Maddie's voice and her grasp of the legato in French art song. Way to go!

Molly Scott placed Second in their Division: Lower College. Molly studies with me at the University of Southern Maine, recently debuting in their first opera as Third Lady in The Magic Flute. I love their performance of "Der Tod und Das Mädchen"- low notes for days!

I am so impressed with the hard work and dedication shown by these students this year; they have been learning virtually via Zoom and despite that strange new learning method, their progress has been a joy to behold. They inspire me every day!
